May 13, 2013 -- While the Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny promotes abortion on demand in Ireland, Catholic Boston College plans to grant him an honorary degree and a platform at its commencement ceremonies on May 20.
Enda Kenny "defied leaders of the Catholic Church on Monday, stressing his commitment to a scheduled vote on abortion legislation." (The Huffington Post, May 6, 2013)
The Irish Catholic bishops called the abortion bill "morally unacceptable."
Lauren Cody, president of the Boston College Pro-Life Club told TFP Student Action that she is "extremely disappointed in the university’s decision to honor a man who is dedicated to legalizing abortion on-demand in pro-life Ireland."
The Irish government under Kenny also attacked the freedom of the Church by attempting to force Catholic priests to break the Seal of Confession. In 2011, Kenny said: "...canon law would not be allowed to supersede state law." (The Catholic Herald, 07-18-11)
Take action. Urge Boston College to rescind its invitation. Speak up for the unborn. Sign your petition and forward it to all your pro-life friends.
