Jesuit University Deletes 2 Abortion Links

By TFP Student Action
April 19, 2010
letter
Over 11,500 petitions were sent to UDM
After weeks of peaceful protest, the Catholic University of Detroit Mercy has removed two links to abortion provider Planned Parenthood that were listed on its web site.

"I'm very happy to verify that the links to Planned Parenthood were deleted," said TFP Student Action director John Ritchie. "Over 11,500 students, parents and pro-life advocates participated in this prayerful protest, calling for the removal of these scandalous links."

"TFP Student Action is grateful to everyone who made this victory for moral values happen," he said. "Their prayers and peaceful action was vital and their participation will continue to play a central role in the future as the spiritual crusade on college campuses continues."

Although the links to Planned Parenthood were removed, links to a pro-abortion group called the National Organization for Women (NOW) were not taken down as the TFP protest petition politely requests.

Wolf in nun's clothing?

Margaret Farley
Sister Margaret A. Farley: Wolf in nun's clothing?
Even more troubling is the discovery that a pro-abortion nun, Sister Margaret A. Farley, RSM is a member of the Board of Trustees at Detroit Mercy.

Over the years, she has taken positions favorable to abortion, same-sex "marriage," sterilization of women, divorce and the ordination of women to the priesthood. "Is she a wolf in nun's clothing?" Ritchie asked. "She should be removed from the board." (see listing here)

Pretty soon we'll have to home school our college kids.

Yes, we should pray for her but she also should be removed! By Roman Catholic standards, she has not taken her vows seriously and does not serve Our Lord Jesus Christ or his ten commandments!

I feel sorry for our kids today...look at the confusion this so called nun has caused...and others like her...sad...so sad...the social justice has gone so far...as to invade our church...this is why we have/had nasty priests too...they are in the habit of changing the order...get it??? I am a sinner but do not try to make others sin...I correct people all the time...they may not listen but one day they will all have to answer the Big Man our Lord...he knows what they did..our poor Popes have tried to do the Christian thing and forgive..but some things are to be held to mans laws on earth...punishment then forgiveness...jail time for these priests and nuns...I may sound harsh...but reality is just that...and the clergy that believes global warming...that stuff is another religion to me...do take us out of our time and place...these people have a surreal agenda...to population control is their goal...
God Bless us all...keep us safe...lead us to the truth...Amen...

Sister Margaret, you are not following God's word. I will pray for you, but you and who ever else is following you, should step away from being on any Catholic Board until you fully understand God's Will.

Please pray for Sister Margaret. All educational institutions are promoting a secular view, even Catholic Universities. We must continue to point out the short comings even to clergy and religious who administrate, etc. also, we need to confront these problems with compassion and charity. I sure she has a Superior who can address this.

yes, we should pray for Sister Margaret. However, she absolutely needs to be REMOVED. Let our Lord see the "change". It was this kind of mercy that has us in so much trouble with the priests that molested children. As they were being forgiven and given another chance...they utilized this to continue raping children. This nun will continue killing babies. I say REMOVE HER AT ONCE!period.

Shame on her - pretending to be a Roman Catholic nun! Obviously, she denies the existence of the Ten Commandments - thou shalt not kill - #5. People like her pretending to be Catholic are destroying our beloved religion from inside. Excommunicate her and remove her from the board of anything Catholic!

I agree with Irene Jacoby. Furthermore, I think we should all pray for this nun to be able to see that she actually approves of murder and if she sees that an innocent little life is being snuffed out and her heart is still cold and hard to this fact then she should be removed. St. Paul can be prayed to as He has been known to soften hardened hearts as well as praying to God and Jesus.

Who is Sr. Farley's Bishop? Does any one know?

The Vatican needs to re-open her ex-communication file.

Peace Eileen T. Therese

As a humorous side joke- wolf in nun's clothing?? If she was in nun's clothing this statement could be plausible. The fact is that she is not in nun's clothing but that she actually wears more adornment than me as a laywoman(she has perm, earrings at least). It is by no mistake that she chooses not to wear nun's clothing and not to wear the teachings of the church. Plain clothes nuns like Ms Farley frighten me less than habit- wearing religious who teach lies, anyhow!

Farley is one of the those put in place by the
Catholic haters who plan to supplant the
Magisterium of our HOLY CHURCH.

Another fine example of a few decades of moral relativism at work on the teaching minds of our church. Refusal to believe in objective moral truth leads to confusion & division - just what the devil hoped. Sad to say Sr. Farly and many "name only" catholic leaders will continue until the Bishop and leaders over them are forced to submit to objective truth of the Catholic Church. Who is going to force them?

The bishop should strip the school of it's catholic identity until they remove ALL dissenters from the board, or they publicly recant their public dissent of Catholic teachings.

we shoud pray for the nun and also to her diocese to voice out their protest to their bishop. and as a nun she should know very well that it is against our catholic belief. she took a vow to serve Jesus in her life as a nun but she has join the evil one and go against her Savior who died for all of us. may the Holy Spirit touches her heart to see the light of GOD.

May God have mercy on her soul. It is written that it would be better to have a mill stone tied around your neck and cast into the ocean than to scandalize my little ones. Surely that applies to this situation. We will pray for your soul.

Margaret Farley can call herself 'Catholic', but we know the "Truth"! (and the Life and the Way!) You cannot be 'Catholic' while not holding ALL the truths of the WHOLE Church and the Magisterium, especially the most basic truth, life itself. I too, wish the Church would just 'de-frock' of any of their consecrated religious that are 'cafeteria Catholics' and just plain excommunicate the pro-abort politicians. But then, the bottom line is always about money.

Something must be done. These nuns and any wayward brothers, like at N.D., need to be taken off-duty by someone who has authority over them in the diocese in which they operate. If her community is so infected, it needs to be shut down by the bishop, with the disobedient ones being removed from the religious life and the good ones being relocated to a good convent/monastery. If it's a beautiful, classical community convent, the good ones should be put in charge.

It's not good enough for bishops to speak out against abortion, radical feminism and gay marriage, they need to purge their dioceses of it or petition one who can to do it.

I'm afraid, though, they have become too political or they support humanistic forms of charity, applying the faith of The Church, when convenient. Souls are the business of our shepherds; there's plenty of lay do-gooders. They could oversee lay volunteers--emphasis on "oversee", as opposed to what's done by the USCCB w/ the CCHD.

Why is it that a woman so against the catholic teaching would want to present herself as a nun for which the Catholic church owes so much. The teachings of Christ and natural law itself are so clear on abortion. Miss Farley I will pray for God's mercy and ask Mary to be at you side in the hour of death hoping for a conversion before it is two late.

Please remove that "nun" from the board. She should be admonished A vow of chastity does not allow these double sins against so many commandments. She is not acting acceptably This is a scandal. She must be asked to leave. She should be admonished by her bishop and her order. I'm so sorry but she is wrong. She is more than confused and should not be allowed to "pseudo" represent us in the Catholic church. Jesus is not in favor of her views. Please remove her. She can be secularized and do some other work. Thank you very much God be praised and loved.
