Oakland Museum of California Attacks Our Lady of Guadalupe

By TFP Student Action
May 12, 2011
Our Lady of Guadalupe
You are urgently requested to protest an impure blasphemy against Our Lady of Guadalupe.

sign-the-protest

It is deeply disturbing how Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Patroness of the Americas, is being impurely blasphemed at the Oakland Museum of California. The museum is currently exhibiting a digital portrait of Our Lady of Guadalupe wearing a bikini, held aloft by a topless woman-angel.

The public display will be open until May 29.

Catholics must not sit by idly and do nothing about this awful blasphemy. We must do reparation and lift up our voices in peaceful and prayerful protest.

Send the museum your instant e-protest

The silence or indifference of Catholics encourages the promoters of blasphemy to push their agenda.  Therefore, we must show Jesus that we care, and that we love His Mother, the Patroness of the Americas, and that we will defend Her holy honor no matter how many times She is attacked and insulted.

On behalf of the Virgin of Guadalupe's honor, please join TFP Student Action in this peaceful and prayerful protest.

Please do not dishonor Our dear Blessed Mother in this hideous way. There are so many works of art that are worthy of recognition why choose to display something that only has value in its sensational nature

Perhaps you have no Catholics at your museum....or, possibly, some that don't care........but..........to me this is blasphemous as far as I am concerned.........We Catholics hold the Virgin Mary in the HIGHEST ESTEEM, and consider this digital photo the work of the devil.

It is hard to understand how your museum can display this photo.....I pity the people who made this photo, and to all of you who display this photo.. GOD BLESS AMERICA

The Oakland Museum is certainly lowering their standards to accommodate and promote such utter garbage. You are simply "CLASSLESS'.

I love our Lady of Guadalupe and the fact that she is the patroness of the unborn. To protect the unborn who is in danger of being aborted is the call for all good Catholics. The Knights of Columbus are also in this fight and I am proud to be on their side in this fight. I pray that OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST will keep all of the babies safe and see to it they live a full life. From conception a child is under the protection of OUR LADY and if only we would pray we could save countless lives.

Not a day goes by that a Christian symbol is not demonized, attacked, disparaged, ridiculed or made illegal. We are not going to sit idly by and watch our religion denigrated. Our belief in God will prevail and those who try to defile us will ultimately end up the losers.

I am extremely offended you would display a profanation of an image we hold sacred in our church. Please consider removing it. Prejudice against many peoples is insidiously injected into society in such ways. Please be a force for "good" in the world. Thank you.

If you care anything about what Christians consider holy, then you would realize that the famous image of Our Lady of Guadalupe is very meaningful as a reminder of Christ's mother's love for us. Please stop offending us by demeaning our faith with this outrageous image.

What your are doing to Our Lady of Guadalupe is a serious defamation of character. Have you studied all the images contained in the original image on the Tilma? Research what you are doing before you make another horrible mistake such as this one.

It is by treating religious role models and figures and divinity by popular cultured fads that may take from our religion's holiness and traditions. That divinity is not of this world is a witness to welcoming hearts, hearts that are not so pleased with this secularized art.

Why would you do such a thing as put Jesus' beloved mother in a bikini? How would you like your mother displayed like that? What has Mary done to you but love you as she loves all of us as The Mother given to us all by Jesus! She is so pure and holy. Even if you have no faith or morals, you have sunk to the very bottom of the pit when you mock others' faiths and display such bigotry, intolerance, and prejudice. Learn respect and stop such mockery.

I can guarantee that the directors of the Oakland Museum of California do not have the guts of their convictions by displaying a picture of The Prophet in such a degrading manner as they have displayed Our lady of Guadalupe. Talk about double standards and hypocrisy.

I am disappointed that a renowned museum such as Oakland would go low as to enter into a offensive, tasteless piece and blasphemous exhibition of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
May God forgive your administration for this sinful act.

es una deshonra para Nuestra Santisima Madre y para todos los que con tanta fe nos acercamos a ella. Es necesario que este reconocido Museo, analice lo que está exponiendo y respete a la dulce madre de Nuestro Señor Jesús.

See.....how they don't RESPECT women because of their morals, like abortions, non-approved birth-controls, etc, etc, they will even attack a women, who they think will not have any power to end such bad behavior. Thank God, that we who believe she is alive, will help end this destruction's of human souls through her. Mary Mother of God, pray for us & this good fight, for nothing is impossible with God, we love you & want all to honor you just like your Son did perfectly, Amen.

Not saying to do so, but sometimes I wonder if it would be best to just let this pass. It will certainly gain more popularity and be seen by more simply because of the protest than without. Unbelievers thrive and and rely on the negativity such as this to promote their agendas. Please pray for the answers on how to deal with such disrespect from a sinful world.

"Father forgive them, they know not what they do" Yes, He will forgive you if you repent and are sorry for the blasphemy you have incurred against His Mother and our Mother. It is the work of Satan, who hates Mary and fears her. You must remove this terrible depiction of the purest and most sinless Person, whom God chose to carry His son. I am praying that you will receive the grace to condemn your actions and remove this evil now!

Degrading mother Mary is exactly like degrading your own mother because she was handed over to you as your mother by Jesus at the foot of the cross. Seek God's forgiveness by your repentance forthwith by withdrawing the exhibit.

I will offer my masses and the prayers of the Holy Rosary for those who disrespect Our Lady. I pray for the conversion of those who do this to her. There are many other good things to do when we are idle; like praying that recession be soon over and that we will experience abundance and prosperity once again. I pray that God touches people who desecrate our beliefs.

This is an outrage and needs to desist immediately. The artist or museum would not dare disgrace the sacred images of any other world religion, yet they believe it is open season on Catholicism. This is not only profane, it has nothing to do with art. I believe their agenda is a sadistic attempt to devalue the Mother of God, because her goodness represents everything they do not stand for. Exploration needs to be done to determine legally if this constitutes a hate crime. If so, litigation against the art museum would be the appropriate next step. Are there any legal experts out there who can advise us?

Because Mary gave us Jesus Christ we are supposed to give her thanks. NOT berate her by trying to "modernize" her. She is perfection, which is why GOD saw fit to choose her to give birth to Jesus. By attempting to bring Mary closer to our already twisted society we are rebelling against GOD; quite similar to what Lucifer and his gang did. I believe we are indeed better than that.

Oh boy, I wouldn't want to be in their shoes, whoever thought this up. Even the demons wouldn't do such a thing.

'The chief exorcist of Rome, Father Gabriel Amorth, has written excellent book An Exorcist Tells His Story...... Interesting fact: According to Fr. Amorth and other exorcists, demons are not allowed to blaspheme the Blessed Virgin Mary. They curse the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and also the saints. But they never curse Mary and shrink back from doing so. The hypothesis is that Christ prevents the demons from doing this or that it has something to do with the prophecy in Gen 3:15 about enmity between Satan and "the Woman" who bore the Christ Child' Taylor Marshall
