Every human being is a unique masterpiece

Dear Editor,

It is an irrefutable scientific fact that, at the moment of conception, every new human being represents a genetically distinct, unrepeatable life.  To abort [kill] that human being in the process of development, at any stage, is to interfere with God's creative power.

Under this perspective, abortion is more evil than, for example, the choice to chop off Mozart’s arms in mid composition. Mozart used his God-given talent to produce masterpieces capable of leaving entire generations of listeners spellbound. Yet every human being, considered in its unrepeatable uniqueness, is a greater masterpiece than a brilliant music score.

The Roe v Wade decision that legalized abortion in 1973 is responsible for taking the lives of 56 million masterpieces.  How many “Mozarts” were among them?  In any decent society, the taking of an innocent life cannot be justified under any circumstances. This is why abortion is wrong and why the defenseless child needs to be protected by law.

Will God bless a nation that allows abortion?

Dear Editor,

“Thou shall not kill.”  The value of this Divine command is reasonable even to the atheist.  Additionally, every stable culture in the history of the world has posited it as law in some form.  As a weary America struggles through wars, a weak economy, and a spiritual crisis, perhaps we should reassess her moral compass.  January 22 marks the anniversary of Roe vs. Wade, the 1973 Supreme Court case that legalized abortion and is responsible for taking over 56 million lives to date.

The saying “God bless America” is a common adage in our country.  Yet the question must be asked: will God bless an America that sanctions the slaughter of innocent children?  Even more, will God bless those who, yet disagreeing with the evil, stand by in apathetic silence?  I don’t think so.

If our legal system accepts the killing of babies who, as science proves, have beating hearts after only twenty days in the womb, how can we feel secure for our own lives?  America must change her moral compass.  If she doesn’t, God will certainly withdraw His blessings.

Abortion is highly un-American and immoral

Dear Editor,

“Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.”  These three rights are strongly defended and loved by the American people.  In fact, we have fought wars and risked lives to protect them.  As we recall the anniversary of Roe vs. Wade, the court case that legalized abortion, we must ask ourselves: what about the rights of the 56 million babies who have been killed since 1973?

During the Second World War, America helped put an end to the cruel concentration camps in Europe.  Yet today, an even greater, silent holocaust is waged within our very own borders.  Every year, over a million babies are aborted.  In short, the most fundamental right, that of life, which is the basis of all the others, is being denied to our own people.  Some may ask whether the unborn child is really a human.  The answer is yes.  Science tells us that the unborn baby has a distinct, unchanging, and unrepeatable genetic code, unique in all of history, from the moment of conception till death.

Many say that a woman has the “right” to choose.  And what of the baby’s right?  Even more, it is illegal in this country to harm the unhatched eggs of an eagle.  Why then, is it legal to kill an unborn child, who is more precious than any bird?

Should life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness be denied to our unborn babies?  To answer in the affirmative would be highly un-American and simply immoral.

Abortion claims more lives than terrorism

Dear Editor,

Since the beginning of the War on Terror in Iraq and Afghanistan, thousands of American soldiers have been killed.  This has been a tragic loss.  Another war, however, has taken an even greater amount of American lives – over 56 million to be exact.  When did this war start, and where does it take place?  It started with the 1973 Roe vs. Wade decision which legalized abortion, and the war is taking place directly on our own soil.

Terrorism is a growing threat.  Not a day goes by without hearing of the deaths it causes.  Perhaps a greater threat than Islamic terrorism, though, is the abortionist’s scalpel.  This terror often goes unnoticed, because the screams of the victims are silent.  Today, we rightly fear the threat of losing our freedom.  But, if we cannot as a nation defend our most basic right, that of life, for our own citizens, how can we ever defend ourselves from the threats against national security?  As precious as Americans view freedom, how can we deny that freedom to the future children of our nation, the future that comes from a mother’s womb?

According to science, a baby’s heart starts beating 20 days after conception.  If America does not defend her children at home, how can we expect to defeat terrorism abroad?  On the anniversary of Roe vs. Wade, January 22, let us stand together and put an end to the silent screams. Once we defeat the enemy within, then we can face the enemy without more effectively.

Abortion undermines Western medicine

Dear Editor,

As we recall the anniversary of Roe vs. Wade on January 22,  the court decision which legalized abortion, I believe it is important to reflect on the tradition of Western medicine.

Western civilization formed the first hospitals and developed a school of medicine.  The key to its fruition, however, is not pure chance, but is based upon the fact that each person, rich or poor, young or old, has the right to life.  Yet today, there is a great contradiction:  abortion. This contradiction in the practice of Western medicine is responsible for the deaths of over 56 million U.S. children since 1973.

For those who doubt whether or not the unborn child is a true human person, science has given us a number of facts.  First, the baby’s heart begins beating at the age of twenty days in the womb, with brain waves start occurring at 40 days.  Secondly, by the age of 14 weeks, the entire body surface, except the back and the top of the head, are sensitive to pain.  What is more, an unborn child can survive outside of the womb at 21 weeks.

In a nation where it is illegal to harm the unhatched eggs of an eagle, why do we allow for the slaughter of innocent babies, which are more valuable?  Let us hope that America will once again be the champion of Western medicine.  Let us hope that she will again protect and defend the right to life, from conception until natural death.

If everyone saw the pictures on these aborted babies who are helpless in a mothers womb, I believe this could help put an end to abortions. Most abortions are done not with knowledge and the mother most times does not realize what she is about to do. Visual pictures and the explanation of the life that you are taking is alive and definitely has feeling, as it is not a "thing" but is God's creation with a purpose. Our country will pay the consequences by God for these acts if we do not put an end to killing His children. The Bible is His word, and we need to start paying attention to it. We are no better then what the Nazi's did as we have our own holocaust here in the USA.

Abortion undermines western medicine. How can we explain this to our Creator. We do not need to explain anything to Him, we must attain child-like disposition in order to enter into the Kingdom of God. Our Little Angels whom we discard and disregard, will be praying for us as we trash them. They will come into the Kingdom full of love and kindness and without malice towards us. Forgive us, Oh Lord!

The question I have is this. In this wonderful country of America, church and State are kept separate. When people allow abortion to be done upon themselves, isn't that their RIGHT? They may burn in Hell, according to your views, but aren't they accepting that when they have the procedure done? Isn't abortion a freedom, just like plastic surgery is? The women is doing what she wants with her body, be it plastic surgery, or be it abortion. Would it also be completely rational to make plastic surgery illegal?

The abortion is chosen by the woman, but not the innocent life in the womb. If your mom had not wanted you, would your termination have been justified? According to your logic the answer is yes. Abortion imposes a brutal world where might is right. And, yes, hell exists. Seek the Truth that you may save your soul. We can at least agree that you cannot prove to yourself that hell does not exist beyond any doubt. We want a world where your life and mine and of all precious unborn is protected and celebrated. Best wishes,nk

Sarah, bless your heart for partaking in the analysis. Many believe that another life must be defended, and that the choice of life or death is not simply a woman's private decision when human life is at stake. Otherwise, the rapist/murder may burn in Hell, isn't his decision to rape and murder you just a matter of his own choice and is none of your business? You seem intelligent. I believe you get the picture.

For all those who agree on abortion, have they ever thought that they will not even have the chance to decide on this issue if their parents decided to abort them for they are dead by now and never enjoyed the life they are enjoying. Why do you refuse the privilege that you are enjoying now to all the unborn babies that you so willingly murder for this is what you want to do, murder those innocent victims who have never done anything wrong to you. Please before you even think about killing those babies, think. How would you feel if you are the ones in their situation now? Would you be happy to be murdered because of your parents' selfishness?

Dear Editor, Life would be better if we respected all human forms. We protect unborn eagle eggs, and we protect the young life of seals. Why is so hard to understand how an unborn child can't defend itself. God alone created us and He alone can take us. To play God is dangerous. We are supposed to be a civilized society. Since 1973, abortion has killed more Americans than all the other wars America has fought combined (Revolutionary, Civil, WW1, WW2, etc.). We are slowly but surely dooming ourselves, our economy, our quality of life. When our founding fathers guaranteed "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness" notice which one comes first! We must do everything we can to protect innocent pre-born human life. If you're 38 or younger, you need to go thank your mom for giving you the gift of life. Over a fifth of your generation didn't get that gift! Pray hard for a conversion of all abortion supporters, and for mercy on our United States of America.

All life is beautiful and the unborn child is the most beautiful and the most vulnerable of all. Who will protect this innocent life? So many things need to be changed and Roe vs Wade is one of them. We also must change our selfish and immoral lifestyle so that we can raise these beautiful children in an environment that allows these precious gifts to grow in love and faithfulness so that he or she has the knowledge to be the wonderful human being that our creator and any parent would be proud of. Have we already aborted the child that could have cured cancer or maybe been the great moral leader that this country needs and desires so deeply? I pray not! Only God knows for sure!

Abortion is murder of innocent children in mother's womb where it is supposed to be the safest. To argue and do abortion is a slippery slope. Tomorrow other human life will be devalued: elderly, sick, handicapped, prisoners, and other non-producers in society. This especially becomes actual in the times of economic crisis. These lives become burden, and all it takes is another Hitler to proclaim certain groupations as sub-human and to go on a hunt to dispose of them from the society. That was done to the Jews and gypsies following the great economic crisis of the last century. Let us not be misled that we won't get there ever again. We already are on a very slippery slope at this time. With more than a million babies aborted each year in this country or a total of 40 millions killed since 1970-ies, it is more than any Hitler's holocoust. May God save us and open the eyes of all who committ the murder of the little babies.

Sadly, these letters all refer to morality, religion, and the intrinsic value of every human life... all arguments which pro-choicers cannot and refuse to comprehend... These arguments are the very ones they use to accuse us of being religious fanatics...

Instead, we need to use more scientific facts, like the fact that there is only one defining moment when a human being acquires all it requires to be a unique and distinct human being: at the fusion of sperm and ova.

At that moment, and only then, does a human being acquire its gender, its human DNA, thus, its identity. Thus, it is proven not to be a mere blob of cells, since it is complete in all it needs... containing all the genetic material and wiring of any human. The rest is merely aging. This moment also defines the beginning of a woman's pregnancy. Would anyone ever suggest that a woman isn't pregnant until later? It wouldn't make sense!

Another point is that pro-choicers themselves refuse to take their so-called "right to health and a future" seriously given their choice to make sex a priority over the latter. Any intelligent human being knows full well that contraception is not fullproof, and can often have permanent side effects on their health. If their health and future are that important to them, shouldn't their choices and actions reflect that?

Furthermore, using the horrible plight of rape victims and women with health problems to justify their selfish means is shameful, especially given the statistics of their own, very liberal Alan Guttmacher Institute according to which rape victims account for only 1% of all US abortions, health issues account for only 6% of all abortions, and the rest, 93% of all abortions are due to children being unwanted when so many women are desperately looking for a child to adopt.

Facts are more difficult to dismiss than religion and morals which our opponents eagerly dismiss... unfortunately... as I learned the hard way from commenting in social media...

It is best to stick to cold statistics and unemotional facts. They have a harder time getting around those with any intelligence, especially when these stats come from liberal sources!

God bless...

Monique, you are absolutely right---many of the pro-abortion folks will not recognize any religious/moral arguments. They simply do not accept them, and will laugh them right out of town. (I would know, living in a very liberal area.)
This is a big strategy issue for pro-lifers---the kind of passionate, faith-loving rhetoric employed by groups like TFP sounds naive and unconvincing to abortion supporters. By no means should we leave religion by the wayside, but when it comes to changing minds, the stark truth of science is way to go.
Fortunately, God is the Author of nature and thus science is on our side.

Life - The final frontier! Science has tried to disprove a Creator through the Hypothesis of Evolution. Now Science has come to realize that Life comes from Life. You can take all the elements in the Periodic Table of Elements and combine them in any form and you will still not be able to produce life. Take any bug and squash it. Hand it to an evolutionist and tell them to find any scientist who can bring the bug back to life. You already know what their answer will be. they will tell you it can't be done. Now ask them why can't it be done? It will put them in a position where they will have to think about their irrational belief in evolution and it will tug at their conscience.
Life only comes from Life, and Life only comes from the Creator!
