Abortion ‘more safe than giving birth’ says professor at Catholic College of Mount St. Vincent

Of all the tenets of Catholic social teaching, perhaps the clearest and easiest to grasp is the right to life, the respect and protection of all innocent human life from conception to natural death.

However, Bianca Laureano, Professor of Sociology at the Catholic College of Mount Saint Vincent, is actively promoting abortion inside the classroom.

As the Cardinal Newman Society recently reported, Prof. Laureano introduced a course this summer, titled “Soc of Human Sexuality.” Describing her course on a pro-abortion web site, Advocates for Youth, she boasts about her involvement in the abortion industry. Abortion is “safe, more safe than giving birth,” she affirms.

Bianca Laureano is also a registered volunteer for The Doula Project. The group’s web site states: “We offer our services to pregnant people having medication abortion (the abortion pill) and surgical abortion. We currently partner with Planned Parenthood Brooklyn and a Public Hospital’s Reproductive Choices Clinic.”

In addition to supporting the culture of death, Prof. Laureano also makes use of blasphemous “art” directed against the Blessed Virgin Mary in her presentations.

The question that comes to mind is this:

If the College of Mount Saint Vincent calls itself “Catholic”, why does it allow this anti-Catholic voice a platform from which to harm the faith? Let us hope that this abuse will be corrected with the swift termination of Prof. Laureano teaching assignment.

Is it too much to ask a Catholic college to act Catholic and stop allowing abortion promoters like Prof. Laureano in the classroom?

In very rare circumstances could complications arise from child birth resulting in the death of the mother or child.

Abortion WILL result in death. So, which is safer? Abortion is not safe.

Abortionists are hired hit men who commit premeditated, prenatal murder.

It is very clear; ABORTION is MURDER!It turns a WOMAN'S WOMB into a TOMB!The child has done nothing wrong.The only Church tha has not waivered on this is the Catholic Church.Why then would a "CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY" ALLOW THIS BEHAVIOR?

The first step you need to take is fire her from her teaching position. Abortion may be safer for the mother but it is murder of the child. Murder is a mortal sin and it is just as simple as that. No mother should ever abort her child regardless of the circumstances.

How did this happen? who is doing the hiring at these schools? why are the parents of these kids, who are paying for their education not insisting this stops? If you send your child to a private religion school, you would think they would make sure their kids are being taught the beliefs in keeping with that religion. This could never happen in certain other religious institutions.

This is a private Catholic college, not government. There are no freedom of speech guarantees. They can perfectly censor outrageous violations of Catholic doctrine by faculty members.

It's impossible to be catholic and believe in abortion. No matter how the liberals spin it, it's still abortion. Why do you think they never show a picture of their so called choice. I'll tell you why, That choice, ( an aborted disfigured piece of flesh is too revolting to be seen by the general public). I'll bet that not one college prof. has a descriptive powerpoint presentation. The cowards should be relieved of their teaching duties immediately.

The oft quoted information that abortion is safer than pregnancy/childbirth is not accurate. Here's why: Any time a woman dies during pregnancy, childbirth, and even up to a month later, her death is recorded as a maternal death.

However a woman who dies because of an abortion or following one, may never be identified on the death certificate as abortion related. The cause of death may simply be listed as sepsis, hemorrhage, suicide, etc. Sometimes it is deliberately left off to spare the family. Furthermore, the abortionist is not seen for complications or emergencies. The treating physician may be unaware of her abortion status. Some states don't collect adequate abortion data.

At no point during pregnancy is having an abortion safer (for the mother)than staying pregnant. Claiming the opposite is lying with wonky statistics. Our soldiers do not fight and die to protect the "right" to lie in the promotion of murder.
