America Says No to Mega Mosque

Few Americans are unaware of the controversy over the proposed Ground Zero mosque in New York City. Thanks to the mainstream media, even fewer are aware of the protest against it on this year’s anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attack. TFP Student Action volunteers joined a huge rally one block from Ground Zero in New York City against the “Victory Mosque” and remembered the victims of the worst terrorist attack in our nation’s history.

The 9/11 Rally of Remembrance was organized by Robert Spencer, director of Jihad Watch, and Pamela Geller of the Freedom Defense Initiative and Stop Islamization of America. It featured prominent speakers in the anti-Jihad movement as well as political leaders.

But the vast majority of rally goers were patriotic Americans who consider a mosque at Ground Zero to be offensive, insulting, and unacceptable to the victims of 9/11 and to America. Although many would like to simply move the mosque to a different location, Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, the Muslim leader behind the project, has been unbending.

Leftists support the mosque

Not far from the Rally of Remembrance was a pro-mosque counter-demonstration, where one would expect to see lots of Muslim protesters. However, that was not the case.  There was a conglomeration of mostly non-Muslim American activists organized by pro-abortion, pro-homosexual, far-left socialist groups such as the International Action Center. It is curious how these anti-family advocates sided so quickly with Islam.

Yelled at for wearing a Cross

One lady we met related how she accidentally entered the perimeter of the counter-protest, and was immediately heckled with obscenities and vulgarities for wearing a cross around her neck. Some pro-mosque people held signs that are too vulgar to repeat. In spite of the police presence, many leftist agitators continuously infiltrated the Rally of Remembrance to disrupt it.

Is the major media blind?

Most shameless, however, was the behavior of the major media. Unwilling to interview normal, coherent, patriotic Americans, reporters zeroed in on a few clearly imbalanced protesters and gave them disproportionate attention and coverage. The media was interested in portraying the 9/11 rally as a small group of racist extremists, which it clearly was not.

Ground Zero, NY:  TFP Student Action volunteers pray for the victims of 9/11.
Ultimately, the struggle against Islamic terrorism -- like the Vietnam War -- is more an internal, psychological struggle within Western civilization, against its internal enemies, than a physical battle on a distant battlefield.

But 70% of Americans are against the mega mosque at Ground Zero and that must be a hard pill for the media to swallow.

On the return trip from New York to Pennsylvania, our group stopped for dinner. Towards the end of the meal, the waitresses and manager learned that we were returning from the 9/11 rally, and immediately the table service, which was already good, improved dramatically. The manager came out and personally showed her support. “I’m with you all the way,” she said. “If there’s anything I can do to help you, just let me know.”

“We will never forget!”

Please do not allow a mosque at ground zero. It would be a symbol of victory for the Muslims. There are plenty of other places they can go.

Thank you so much for your efforts! You represent so many of us in this nation! Sad to say, but I think this country has just gone too far. However, we do understand that "The best way for evil to triumph, is for good men to do nothing"..God Bless you, and God save America!

Thank you for being at ground zero. So many are not able to be at ground zero on 9/11. I pray for our country every day and that the muslims leave our country. People do not understand they our on a crusade and they want the whole world to become muslim. Why are the ones that convert to Christianity so afraid of their life. Their own families kill them. What is wrong with Americans that support them. Please keep your weapon on you at all times, the Rosary. God bless you TFP.

I agree with the woman in the video about "...their silence is what bothers me..." referring to moderate muslims who do not come out and say WHY a mosque should be placed there. I don't see an "olive branch" or any effort on their part to justify this. Not that building a mosque there can be justified but still, why were there only American non-muslims at the pro-mosque rally?

The mainstream media always focuses on the people who will make their agenda seem better and ignore those who will not; they omit to report things like the composition of the pro-Mosque clique (anti-Christian, One-world Order-type). Most people are still abysmally ignorant that Islam IS a culture---they cannot assimilate into Western culture. Having lived for over a year in the Mideast, one learns that their mindset is not compatible with ours. There are no "fanatical" Muslims, because those that resort to terrorism are following the Koran! Mohammed made the bulk of his converts by the sword---nothing has changed.

I don't trust the liberal media. They are not fair and balanced, and they only report the news that fits the liberal agenda. In other word, they are a branch of the liberal Democrats. They demonize pro-life conservative candidates running for office because they hate them for standing for the truth.

TFP: God bless each of you for all the good that you do. You speak for all of us who cannot be there to join you.
We must not let this mosque
be built at ground zero. What a slap in the face and mockery to those who perished on 9/11,
their families and the American people.
We must not let evil prevail. Pray, pray, pray the Rosary daily. Our Dear Mother of God, Mary, will help us but we must pray.

I believe that each person should have the freedom to choose his religion. However, I also believe that the idea of building a mosque so close to Ground Zero is a slap in the face to the United States, and the muslims should understand the complexity of the situation and back off. They could prove by this that they are fortunate to be living in the United States.

My father's generation often said, "Remember Pearl Harbor" A President said,"December 7,1941 -a date that will live in infamy!"
Shall we never forget September 11,2001 and say "Remember Terrible Tuesday -a day of absolute evil"
REAL AMERICANS WILL NEVER HAVE AMNESIA.
EVERY YEAR THEY WILL MARCH THERE.
2011 WILL SEE MORE HOLDING "OLD GLORY HIGH" to let the Word know that God is above evil and that "LIBERTY AND CHRISTIAN CIVILIZATION WILL PREVAIL".

A nice, quite, insightful, civilized rally. All done without blowing up buildings. The newcomers to America have a lot to learn; it's NOT about what's allowed on paper at the Town Hall, etc. The real GOD Knows the REAL American from the superficial American.

As the woman in the video stated, the main gripe I have is the almost total silence from supposedly "peace-loving Muslims" decrying the 9/11 attacks, and the other incidents and near attacks since. I was at the protest, and we outnumbered the pro-mosque liberals at least three to one. The force on that day encouraged me that maybe, finally, Americans are waking up to the threats to our nation. And even here in liberal New York, this is one issue the left-wing media isn't winning.

I sincerely do not support the mega Mosgue to be built at the 9/11 site. It should be preserved as a memorial site to for the fallen men women who died by the the most inhuman act of the Muslims madness. These type of people should be wiped out from the face of the earth. They don't deserved to live at all.

I cannot understand that our country is allowing these radical foreigners to dictate their way on us Americans. There is NO WAY that any American can behave in this manner in any other country. They will NOT allow it. These radical extremists are arrogant and act as tho' they own us. They're cocky and self-serving. Send them back to their own country. We do NOT want immigrants here that will NOT assimilate.

I am from Kerala, India. Mosque in Ground Zero is an insult not only to Americans but everyone in all over the world. America is the land of freedom, agreed but it seems like it's the freedom without responsibility and sense. Why a Mosque? Homage to the dead terrorists on the plane? Honestly I can't believe this

Wrong place, Wrong time, Wrong attitude to build a (Victory) mosque near "ground zero".
Would the World War II generation of Americans allow a Japanese shinto shrine to be built at the site of the destruction of Pearl Harbour during the Pacific War in the 1940's? I DOUBT IT!!

We all must turn back to God and pray, pray, pray as Blessed Mother has told us time and time again since 1917 at Fatima.

Please all Americans and all peoples turn back to God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit and mend your lives to be holy. Only through Prayer can we change hearts and be as God the Almighty Father has created us to be. Jesus Have Mercy on us ALL. Amen.

Everyone in America should read about The Battle of Lepanto which took place in the mid 1560's. The Muslims were at war with the Christians in all of Europe & the Mediterranean destroying churches, exposed Crucifixes, killing Christians & declared war on them.It went on for years, until they reached the southern coast of Greece,Leponto,on Oct. 7, where the Christian fleet, encouraged by their priest, said the Rosary. The Bl. Mother saved them & drove the barbaric Muslims away. Pope Pius V declared this date as the Feast of the Holy Rosary. The Muslims haven't changed. If all of us would get on our knees to say the Rosary, especially on Oct. 7, the Bl.Mother will certainly listen to us.

I think that the concern over the mosque is really more of a severe problem than media and most people realize,( all mosques teach sharia law = islamic law based on passages directly from the koran) I have read and studied parts of the Koran , holy war and intolerance for other religious view are all through the text, it may start out as a peace oriented religion but that is if all are believers and the later part of the text shows no tolerance at all and the treatment of women is beyond terrible, the later passages in the koran supercede the earlier > i urge everyone to read it gain the proper insight and protect everyone from its spread , the hadith has rude comments about women as well > God Bless us all

It is time to bombard the major media public relations email account with mails of protest. If possible, time to organize a protest to the media on their biased reporting.

Everyone should read "Sword of the Prophet" by Serge Trifkovic. Islam is not a religion of peace, and they are not about to "make nice." I believe the end times are closer than we would like to believe.
