VIDEO: Pro-Homosexual Advocate Destroys Traditional Marriage Banner in New York

By John Ritchie
June 06, 2011

TFP Student Action members were assaulted while peacefully demonstrating for traditional marriage in Fairport, New York, on June 2.

As young TFP volunteers stood at the corner of Main Street and Church Street with signs,  a pro-homosexualist hurled himself against the group’s thirteen foot long banner inscribed with “God’s Marriage = 1 Man & 1 Woman.” The banner, held by three volunteers, was knocked down and violently torn to pieces.

The assailant also threatened to destroy the group’s cameras used to document their campaigns for moral values.  “I’ll smash your camera,” he said.  Approaching another TFP volunteer who was holding a sign that read “Honk for Traditional Marriage,” the aggressor said: “Are you going to give me your sign, or do I need to rip it up too!?”

Assault with glass bottle

In a separate incident at the same demonstration, another supporter of "gay marriage" threw a beer bottle at TFP volunteer Michael Shibler from a moving vehicle.  The glass bottle hit him on the forehead, causing it to swell and bleed. Local police are investigating both incidents.

“These bully tactics do not even slightly dampen my resolve to continue promoting the truth about marriage in charity.  Our cause is noble and we will win,” said Shibler.

“Some say that same-sex ‘marriage’ doesn’t harm or affect anybody.  Well, I think my throbbing forehead is a good example of how it does harm people. Anti-family proponents would like to completely silence my first amendment right to free speech,” he said.  “While demanding tolerance for what they call 'diversity,' they are utterly intolerant of opposing viewpoints.”

On their tour for traditional marriage, TFP Student Action members are distributing flyers titled 10 Reasons Why Homosexual "Marriage" Is Harmful and Must Be Opposed. It calls on New Yorkers to firmly and peacefully resist the advance of the so-called gay-rights movement.

This proves how 'INTOLERANT' homosexuals are! They want toleration shown towards them, but of course it doesn't apply to them! I wish the rest of America would take notice. If the gallup poll shows homosexuality acceptance, then why aren't the states passing SSM?

Homosexuality is defined by sex. Heterosexuality is defined by God. Homosexuality cannot be defined by marriage, it cannot be defined by children, and it will never be defined by love. Homosexuality is defined by a perverted sexual act. May God's love and mercy shine like a rainbow on our brothers and sisters struggling with sexual addiction and perversion.

No, what he did was not right. It was wrong and evil. And your intolerance too is evil. That's o.k. though because we all make mistakes. Thank God for those of us who have the tools to not make mistakes again. Unfortunately, too many people have been blinded by the homosexual agenda, the media, and others that do not care for their well-being. Again, their is hope for all in another place.

It is demonic activity. No religion in the world considers homosexuality ordered behavior. The only group that allows homosexuality and encourages it is the satanists. These physical assaults are evidence of it too. Satan encourages physical violence like with Cain toward Abel in the Bible. When the followers of Islam gain the majority in this country they will start executing the homosexuals just like in England and no one will be left to help them because they distanced themselves from the Christians, who are only telling them their behavior is disordered we are not advocating violence toward them. We are telling them the truth out of love for them. It is loving behavior to tell someone that their actions will lead to their destruction. It is unloving to allow them to continue doing anything that hurts them in this life or the next. Just like a parent would not allow their child to continue to run out in front of traffic, but may spank them to prevent harm to the child.

You really have to love the "open mindedness" of the politiKal left. They believe in Free Speech (as long as you agree with and parrot what they say) and are open to "different ideas" (as long as your point of view is THEIR point of view). We are where we are today because of the "silent majority" who for far too long sat quietly by and let evil triumph. Pray that God will help turn this around before it reaches the point (assuming it hasn't already) where God says, "Who are you? Never heard of ya'." Unless this Nation gets down on its knees with prayer and fasting, the United States of America is lost.

Same-Sex Marriage does harm to homosexual people. Suicide rate among homosexual people in countries where it has been adopted have increased along with drug abuse, depression, and STD. By institutiong same sex marriage in these coutnries, U.K., Canada, Sweden, France, etc the actual durability of same sex relationships remains 300% weaker than heterosexual relationships, rarely lasting as long as 5 years, and less than 10% are monogamous. Therefore, if someone is really "pro-gay" as in they support what is in the best interest of gay people, they must also be in support of defending the marriage institution.

The only sin being committed here is that guy tearing up the banner and displaying himself as a homosexual who believes in tolerance buy yet does not practice it himself. Why do these gay people think that SSM is so right? Why are they condemning the whole world with their ungodly practices? What they want to do is force the world to be accepting of everything they do which from the beginning of time is totally wrong. 1 MAN + 1 WOMAN = MARRIAGE!

I am sad to see that the only comments opposed to TFP's peaceful demonstrations are encouraging the violence (or denying that it occurred). When I see protesters with whom I disagree, I would never condone anyone hurting them or damaging their property. No matter how wrong I think that people holding up "pro-choice" signs are, I would never throw glass bottles at them or grab their signs and rip them. Why? Because I am tolerant of their right to voice an opinion even when it is one with which I completely disagree. Logic and reasoned discussion are the ways to persuade somebody with whom you disagree, not rage and violence.

Consult with the District Attorney to see if this qualifies as a Hate Crime against Christians. Talk about an oppressive person! He not only attempts to violently destroys your right to free speach by ripping up the banner, he then goes on to threaten that he will smash the cameras. This action was a serious violation, and needs to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Are there any attorneys out there who can provide these fine young gentleman with a legal opinion?

Here is the deal. So-called Christians have been at the forefront of denying large swaths of human beings rights for centuries. Hundreds of thousands of humans have been subjugated, killed, maimed, denied rights, etc, for thousands of years. Christianity was responsible for 700 years of intellectual stagnation, in the Dark Ages. Christianity is responsible for so much more.
http://notachristian.org/christianatrocities.html
http://www.middle-ages.org.uk/middle-ages-history.htm

Further, why do so called Christians focus specifically on homosexuality? Why don't you focus on divorce? Infidelity? Working on the Sabbath? Oh how I miss "traditional" biblical beliefs such as stoning, mass murder, subjugation, torture, raping and censure.

Rate down if you will, however any research, or reading of the Bible will validate each and all of these statements.

God created Adam and Eve and NOT Adam 1 and Adam 2 - man and woman NOT man and man. To go against what God has ordained is to create Sodom and Gomorrah all over again and we all know what the consequence will be. In the first place, the aforementioned attacks are unwarranted in the 'land of the free'. When people behave the way the attackers did it just shows how guilty and shameful they feel. I believe that God gives Man time to correct himself: if he does not, then he will see the wrath of God descend upon him in an all-consuming manner. Just because God does not strike the wrongdoer instantly should not be taken to mean that the Scriptures do not matter. Bravo TFP volunteers! Do continue to your parade your banners in support of traditional marriage peacefully. I am sure God is with you: He is the silent witness who will blow all opposition to His Word away like the chaff on the fields. God bless.

This is destruction of property and it is also an assault on civil rights to protest, assembly in America. Marriage may not be easy but it seems to work; well most of the time, it may not be perfect, it may not even be functional, but, lets keep it because the alternatives lead to muslim-harem abuses of women, at least this way marriage is a sacrament, sacred to God-Jesus. Bless the women who are connected to these men who love marriage. Prosecute the vandal who tore the sign for the replacement value of the sign. Prosecute the driver of the auto who assaulted with intent to harm, motive these good men. Violence should never be tolerated in America.

Don't give up hope, for it is Christ in you, the Hope and the Glory that they see...If they hate you, it is because they hate Jesus, He said they would hate Him, and because we follow Him the world hates us.You are filled with the Holy Spirit to Over Filling and you have a Host of Spiritual Prayer Partners lifting you all up in the name of Jesus.
