Update -- 04-19-11: YouTube is still silent on the motives that led them to remove our video. However, we reposted the video on another server. The video documents how same-sex “marriage” advocates assaulted us and attempted to destroy our banner. Please forward it to all your friends. Post it. Share it. Blog it.
Update -- 03/29/11: YouTube removed our video of this campaign at Brown without any explanation.
Original Report
What we faced today at Brown University, an Ivy League university, had the flavor of a religious persecution. As we peacefully campaigned, about 250 frenzied pro-homosexual students gathered to scream, spit, taunt, insult, assault, and even attempt to destroy our traditional marriage banner. Only with supernatural protection, and a strong police presence, did TFP volunteers manage to complete the campaign without serious injury.
On the front lines for traditional marriage
Situated in the heart of campus, Brown's central quad looked like a good spot to set up our campaign. As we strolled onto campus, the silence was shattered by a long, loud "Nooooooo, not at Brown!" After raising the American flag, TFP Standard and banner on the central quad, dozens of students gathered to take in the sight and snap photos on their cell phones. Also, one could not miss a large rainbow flag hanging from one of the campus buildings nearby. It was like a mini-Berkeley.

Suddenly, a loud thud-rip noise was heard. I looked up and saw a pro-homosexual student literally crashing through our traditional marriage banner, attempting to destroy it. Running at top speed, he flung himself into it and ripped one side loose. Some students watching from a distance approvingly cheered the act of violence. Then two women kissed in front of our banner to the applause of liberal onlookers.
"Why are you here?" many students asked. We politely told them how the TFP was on a state-wide tour defending traditional marriage. They would just stand there in a sort of daze, and repeat the question again: "But why are you here?" Some of them just couldn't believe it.
Soon, two campus police officers asked us to move to the public sidewalk, forty yards away. We promptly complied with their request and continued the campaign on the intersection of Waterman and Brown.
Student: No objection to pedophilia
TFP volunteer Mr. Danniel Pribble debated with one pro-homosexual student, illustrating how the acceptance of homosexual vice leads to the acceptance of pedophilia. In fact, during a recent session in Canadian parliament, experts claimed that pedophilia is a "sexual orientation."
"What moral grounds do you stand on to oppose pedophilia, once you've accepted homosexual behavior?" asked Mr. Pribble. "You're right," answered the student. "I don't have any substantive objection with pedophilia."
More police officers arrived and playfully told Mr. Charles Sulzen, our bagpiper: "You can stay as long as you keep playing the bagpipes..."
Students repeatedly approached our members with the same comment: "You're very brave for coming here." Watching the out-of-control behavior of dozens of pro-homosexual students, a gentleman on the sidewalk remarked: "They want tolerance. But they can swear, spit and scream all they want..."
As Mr. James Bascom distributed pro-family literature, a woman with a rainbow ribbon on her lapel said: "You're being so intolerant!"
"Why don't you tolerate us?" inquired Mr. Bascom. "So tolerance is a one-way street, then?"
"Yes, yes. It is," said the woman. It became amply clear that free speech at Brown University is not free and that the opposition would do everything they could to silence our message of truth: that marriage is between one man, and one woman.
He spat in TFP volunteer's face
Last week, pro-homosexual students held a protest against traditional marriage at the same location where we were now standing. Most of their signs included the word "equality." However, they clearly wanted to impede our right to equally assemble. "...They had their event last week," observed one of the police officers, "so what's wrong with your being here? I am totally with you."
By now, the number of pro-homosexual students increased to about 250. The pitch of their screaming intensified too, and in the chaos, one of our youngest volunteers, Zachariah Long, 17, was spat upon in the face. "What do I do with this on my face?" asked Zachariah. "Get it out of your eyes," said Mr. John Miller. He wiped the spittle off his face, then reported the incident to a police officer standing nearby. "Yea, I can tell," said the policeman. "It looks pretty bad. If you point him out to me right now, I will lock him up immediately." But the aggressor ran away. Patting Zachariah on the shoulder, the officer continued: "Let's file a report. We'll get him."
Approaching Zachariah, one student said: "Can I shake your hand? Because it takes a lot of courage to be out here." Another added: "This is great! But, I'm going to go right now before something happens. Keep up the good fight. Thanks for being here. It takes a lot of guts. It's really brave."
More debates...
Brown student: "Don't take their flier. The Catholic Church is against it."
TFP volunteer: "If you're Catholic, you'd know what the Church teaches. The 10 Commandments didn't change."
Brown: "No! That's outdated. Religion is just for the masses."
TFP: "Well, I guess you agree with Karl Marx."
Brown: "If you talk to Father so and so, he'll tell you that he's in favor of same-sex 'marriage.'"
TFP: "If he does, then he's not faithful to the teachings of the Church."
On the other side of the intersection, Mr. Leo Fitzsimmons, a TFP supporter, explained why marriage is important: "marriage produces children. And there's no future without marriage. Same-sex 'marriage' does not produce children." This simple reality befuddled the student who responded with profanities. "God bless America," responded Mr. Fitszimmons. The young student, who looked like an American, was so upset that she yelled, "I'm not American!"
Police escort to our vans
Seeing the violent attitude of the pro-homosexual students, the police chief wanted to escort us to our van and ensure our safe departure. After completing the 1 hour and 30 minute rally in its entirety, we prayed three Hail Marys, shouted our motto "Tradition Family Property – America" and left. Policemen surrounded us on all sides and were assisted by a patrol vehicle on the street. A rowdy group of approximately 250 pro-homosexual advocates attempted to break through the perimeter to harass us. Without ceasing, they screamed obscenities and yelled in chorus over and over again: "God loves gays!"
I never saw a more frenzied collection of students before.
Thank God, the police protected us as we packed our vans. But when we pulled away from the curb, many pro-homosexual students closed in to hit the sides of our vehicles with their fists or palms. A hard object, maybe a rock, was thrown against one of the vans.
Salve Regina at the feet of Our Lady
The International Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima is visiting churches in Rhode Island, giving us the opportunity to see her on several occasions. After such an intense campaign at Brown University, we were able to pray at her feet once again and sing the Salve Regina. I could think of no better way to end the day.

| The International Pilgrim Virgin statue of Our Lady of Fatima |
"Are you with TFP Student Action?" asked a lady crossing the church parking lot with small children in tow. "Yes," I answered. "I'm following your tour, watching the videos, seeing what abuses you endure and I truly admire what you are doing. Your valor makes us so happy. And we love the bagpipes.
There may have been 250 people yelling at you today at Brown, but I want you to know that there are many more families like ours supporting you and praying for you. There are a lot of people following behind your tall banner."
Gathering her children around her, the lady continued: "These men are real Catholic men. They do what all Catholics should be doing. They are Catholic heroes. They stand on the street corners [for traditional marriage] and endure being spit upon and get things thrown at them. We need to give them our prayers and our thanks."
We thank Our Lady for granting us the grace to defend traditional marriage, certain that her victory predicted at Fatima will be accomplished: "Finally, my Immaculate Heart will triumph!"

One of my friends to be exact, came up to you and told you that he's interracial and that in the 60's people used the same exact logic as you to justify why a black man could not marry a white woman and vice versa. He asked if you think that his existence is wrong, for by that same exact logic, you would also oppose interracial marriage.
If you come to places like Brown, who are accepting and provide safe space for anyone, no matter their religion or sexuality, you should be prepared to engage in dialogue, which you clearly didn't do.
Don't portray yourselves as martyrs during your time at Brown.
You hurt the LGBTQ teens here with your presence more than any of us hurt you.
To be accepting and open for debate, you have to employ a certain amount of mutual courtesy, and LOGICAL THINKING in order to have a dialogue.
Did you see the video? The TFP people where very happy to engage in dialogue. Yeah, I know; kind of hard when they had to talk over the howls and screams of a frenzied crowd, huh?
Screaming, spitting, and obscene gestures are not the usual method of debate; or any adult conversation, for that matter. And I don't think you could get by with this approach in ANY CLASSROOM at Brown, either.
If the LGBTQ crowd would fearlessly, and with conviction, have a respectful, adult conversation, they might see that someone loves them enough to not only listen to them, but who also loves them enough to tell the Truth.

Congratulations for your brave posture. That Our Lady gives you strength to defend the Catholic Ideals
I am continuously praying for you.

It's very obvious from pictures on the BlogDailyHerald that several students were able to talk to these guys. Not to mention, the kinds of things that I heard said by students after the protesters left were nothing short of hateful.
You comment and the anti-protest hurt the Christian community. Our faith is an integral part of our identity and if it's truly impossible to represent that faith at Brown, than you are also being discriminatory.
As far as I see it, these protests were peaceful and hardly hateful. Brown students turned it into hate.
I think you didn't see the video. There is a button (play) on the screen. Just click it...
'Pro-Homosexuals at Brown University Respond to Peaceful TFP Rally with Violence', the video that the pro-homosexuals didn't see...
Congratulations TFP. Keep this fight ahead. We will pray for you.

It is in such situations that each side shows their true colors for all to see.. I wonder why they feel so threatened by your presence that they need to turn so hateful?
Once again, thank you for doing this. You are in my prayers.
Race is not a choice, but homosexuality is.
I am in an interacial Catholic marriage and live in the Far East so I live the diversity that Brown students ostensibly support. Racial diversity comes from nature, homosexual conduct comes from the will, and if universally practiced would have led to the extinction of humanity. Clearly, there is a strong natural law argument against it. But what strikes me about the Brown students was an inability to think outside of left wing chants. Really not very impressive.

i must say i do not have the courage to go up against such hateful people like you guys did, that took guts, they cursed you all out and tried scaring you off and even tried destroying your things, and you just stayed calm and at peace, really, you have my support all the way,
hate the sin, love the sinner, you guys have the right idea,
if we believe that homosexual practices sends souls to hell, than how can we call ourselves Catholic if we do not try and help these people? they should be offended more at those who don't care if they go to hell...but all they care about, it seems, is doing what they "feel" is right, whereas we strive to do Gods will, disregarding our own, even at the price of our own lives.
May God bless and protect you all.
Define attack... What are you studying? Is not philosophy or any truth is assume. Rights can't be invented are natural. Where it does not fit there can be no right. It is not natural for shore and so It can be a right. Is a psychological state and so must be treated. That's why gay relations don't last and they can hate more than any. God bless you guys for what you do and stand. That's why the catholic Church is so Good... whe stand for what we believe and we have the things right.
Finally, juridically, not every desire is a right!
TFP have my solidarity.
Jesus be praised forever and ever Amen.
By the way Katarzna, God loves homosexuals but not homosexuality. This logic is nothing like the logic of segregation as you stated. God loves biracial children and homosexuals because He created them. He loves all of us - of course the existence of all human beings is good.
The liberal students were the ones who were hateful at this protest. They could not even defend their position with logic or peace. They had to resort to yelling and spitting, and trying to destroy your property. So much for a college education.
Sorry but the video does not lie. Most of the students protesting look like typical filthy, foul mouthed, silly little liberals who are probably attending Brown because Brown had to meet quotas. None of the Brown students made any sense and are obviously not very bright and have major chips on their shoulders. Pathetic bunch of hate filled losers.
God Bless TFP Student Action!!
Continue God's work. We know what the "last chapter" promises to His children. Blessings
Thank you for taking the COURAGE and SPEAK THE TRUTH!!
BLESSED are you who are persecuted , you will inherit the kingdom of GOD!!
You are always in my prayers!!!
I can tell and feel the Blessed Mother protected you !!!Thank you !!!
Good work TFP. May God bless you and our Blessed Mother be your Champion in this fight against evil.

There were only two things the Brown students showed today: ignorance and the fact that they can count by two's.
May God have mercy!
God bless your work. What you do encourages those students with a conscience to forge on in the system of Godless academia.

I admire your volunteers for speaking up for God. They are heroes in His eyes. God bless you and your work.
I will pray for them because they need out prayers.
Thank you for your courage in proclaiming and witnessing to the truth TFP.
I wish TFP would come to Illinois State!
The Liberal Media Will Never Pick Up On This, but Our Heavenly Mother Will, Assuring us of Her Eminent Triumph Garanteed in FATIMA. May She Continue to Protect You till that Assured Victory over Evil.
TFP. Your zeal for God's love make me cry. I stopped my work to say a Hail Mary for you. if only i were that strong.
I might not agree with your stance on all this, but if you ever are at my school in the west, I'd be willing to defend your freedom of speech no problem. It's what allows discussion to flourish when both sides are of non-violent behaviors. Honestly IV leagues are a bunch of spoiled rich kids anyway; no wonder they acted so rudely.
are so proud of them.
Brown University, what a disgrace.
THEY want US to tolerate THEIR cause or sexual orientation or whatever, but THEY persecute us when WE try to stand up for OUR cause.
WE didn't do anything to them when THEY were out there with THEIR flags and signs, but when WE do the same thing for OUR cause, WE get attacked.
I'm confused... how is this, in any way shape or form, logical???
"Blessed are those who are persecuted in my name..."
God bless TFP!!!
What you are going through is exactly what we Pro Life Activists went through in the early days of that struggle.
Now that I think about it, many of the protestors were also homosexual. Hard to find an homosexual activist who is also not pro choice abortion on demand.
Keep up your effort. Hopefully I will be able to join with you at one of your stops. Jim Finnegan

This assertion is incorrect. Free speech is the right to put your idea out into the "marketplace" to allow them to be debated and discussed by the people. You did that by holding your rally and distributing information that explained your position. Once you put your message out there, people can decide whether or not to accept or reject it.
Suppression of free speech occurs when the government decides to censor your message simply because they disagree with the message or the idea may be unpopular. Thus, only the government can violates the free speech rights of TFP.
The students at Brown simply responded to the idea that TFP put into the marketplace. They choose to reject your idea as one they didn't agree with, but they didn't trample on the First Amendment rights of TFP.
And... let's not forget:
THESE PEOPLE VOTE and REPRODUCE.
Lord have mercy on us!

well first off....no one cares about Australia...second not all homosexuals are hostal...but you people sure are giving them a reason to be by protesting a right that they should have in a free nation that isnt supposed to take sides in religios matters...have you not heard of seperation of church and state...that is what the problem is if you people dont want gay marriage...then have your pastors say no...but dont take the right for these people to be spouses because you are all intolerant...
let me clear this up for you....the are protesting for rights...no one has a problem with that....
you are prostesting to take those rights away...big constitutional problem
do you understand now
Los apoyo totalmente. Saludos.
¡Salve maría!
May God bless you all and give you courage.

These poor gays have been persecuted their entire lives. maybe they are tired of it.
I'm for marriage equality. There will always be gays in our community, and smothering their right to marry is not saving your children. You are making it worse.
EDITOR'S COMMENT: What's so difficult to understand about "looked American"? It means the student was not a foreigner studying at an American campus.
Regarding marriage "equality," no one can change reality. Homosexual unions will never be marriages, even if the law unjustly condones behavior that violates nature.
I am in full agreement here. This isn't about the right to protest or free speech, its about you not accepting the world we live in, and wanting to take away gay rights. Shame on you for being so closed minded and unacceptable to fellow human beings.
But we're not speaking about a same sex friendship ... it's good for men to have good men friends, and it's good for women to have good women friends. No, it's about taking the natural good of our human bodies and persons, the natural good of the complementarity of male and female, men and women, seen in the human bodies themselves and perverting the use of our bodies and sexual (reproductive) organs, using them for pleasure (and sometimes power/domination)with someone of the same sex, contrary to nature, instead of the pure love between a man and woman designed to express and deepen their union and produce new life, in marriage which is exclusive and lifelong.
God bless!!
A protest against people who are overweight is a protest against these people right to eat too much food.
A protest against anything involves one taking a position of asking others to restrict what they do. The idea that a protest cannot occur because it seeks to condemn someone's behavior such as homosexuality is thus not the issue. You obviously want to limit these people right to express their moral and Christian beliefs.
The right of free expression in public are rights granted by the constitution.
So your view is we cannot protest against clubbing of baby seals because it will restrict the native population right to their seal hunt? So one is intolerant of seal hunters? Let's not be silly here.
So you now saying there is to be no free right of expression on campus? Your hypocrisy on this matter is laughable.
"THE MORE WRETCHED THE SINNER, THE MORE DESERVING THEY ARE OF MY MERCY." MAYBE WE CAN LOOK AT THEIR "RAINBOW" FLAG, AND LET IT REMIND US OF HIS PROMISE! HE ALSO ATTACHED A PROMISE OF CONVERSION TO THE FOLLOWING PRAYER "OH BLOOD AND WATER WHICH GUSHED FORTH FROM THE HEART OF JESUS, AS A FOUNT OF MERCY FOR US, I TRUST IN YOU." GOD BLESS YOU ALL! The person who wrote in Spanish made a good point: every one of those pro-gay "rights" students came from a man and a woman. Although I have heard of gay men impregnating gay women so that they can bring up children with their agenda. Not only is it unethical but absolutely immoral. More and more unethical procedures are taking place in the world and have become acceptable to so many of our young people... The universities have played a large role in confusing our children in distinguishing what is right from wrong. Thank you for what you do and you will be in my prayers.
This is the difference between an ordinary person and a hero -- heroes change the world they live in.
Be not afraid; and keep up your hearty work.
This indicates the low level of discourse at Brown or most Ivy League schools. Thinkers need not apply.
I hope I can donate to you guys soon because it takes a lot of guts to do what you guys did that day.
The Homosexuals, atheists and communists are attacking us.
I saw your video and we use like example to us.
Sad but True...is the end of the times?
God and Virgin Mary bless all you.

=== Keep up the good work in opposing the prostitution of our founding virtues and liberties.
as i have said before...this tfp is attacking their freedom...wouldnt you be hysterical if a group was attacking your freedom to be catholic....
Sounds like that's exactly what this pro-homosexual group was doing....attacking tfp's freedom to stand up for their faith...tfp didn't look very hysterical to me!
good...then tfp can stop protesting marriage and against homosexuals and they can deal with the afterlife...problem solved
Here we have a group standing up for morality, according to the Bible and the Catholic Church, and people are all up in arms over THEIR display of intolerance??? The Brown U. agitators throughout the video were clearly the ones who were intolerant and angry.
How dare they try to silence TFP's right to freedom of speech through bullying and intimidation. I am so disappointed with the Brown U students. If I was an administrator there, I sure wouldn't have wanted this video displayed on Youtube.
May God continue to bless your efforts TFP! Onward Christian Soldiers!!!
2.) After the gays go to Boston and work on transgenders. The Governor can hardly wait to okay that Bill. There are about 30,000 transgenders in MA. Stand in front of the State House on Beacon Street, Boston, MA.
Best! And, 'Happy, Clean New Year!'
Just wondering, why are the the protesters faces blanked out? First time I've seen that in one of your videos. People need to see just who are the haters.
And where else would one speak the truth, if not where lies abound? Where better? It isn't 'persecution' to express disagreement.
Shame on your hate. I hope you know that every member of your group is going to hell. You don't understand what you are doing.
I think this shows the importance of attending a Catholic college-that is, one that actually follows Church teaching.
It's important to say that homosexuality is not determined by genes, like a lot of people say. If you are homosexual and don't have any children, how can you pass on the homosexual "gene"? Clearly, either it (homosexuality)is determined by environmental factors (conditioning from the liberal media or the absence of good parent figures), or else homosexuality would have ceased to be present thousands of years ago!
Fight the good fight. God is on TFP's side.
Like some overtired 6 year old. So apoplectic she's forgotten her anatomy. Too funny.
You need to return regularly, bearing witness. Their own "faith" in equality is so weak, so groundless, they can't stand your refusal to submit much less a real challenge to it.
