Princeton University Campaign for the Unborn Meets Indifference

On April 1 TFP Student Action volunteers traveled to Princeton University, a sprawling Ivy League campus located in Princeton, New Jersey, to stand up for the God-given right to life enshrined in this Nation's Constitution.

Princeton was established in 1746 and is the fourth-oldest institution of higher learning in the United States. Included among its alumni are presidents Woodrow Wilson and James Madison along with liberal Supreme Court Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan.

The TFP volunteers set up just outside the campus and began handing out literature explaining why abortion is immoral and must be opposed.

Approximately 3,000 unborn babies are killed every day and over 60 million have been murdered since abortion first became legal in 1972.

To fight for a culture that respects and loves God's law, TFP Student Action spent several hours spreading the truth regarding the evils of abortion at Princeton. The periodic verbal attacks from pro-abortion advocates did not even slightly hinder the progress of the campaign.

Surprisingly, the presence of TFP Student Action volunteers did not spark any significant push back from pro-abortion advocates. For the most part, the students who passed by either laughed or simply walked past with stony faces. Indifference dominated.

However, one woman did approach a TFP member and started explaining how important it was for women to have access to “safe” abortions, to which the member responded, “What is a safe abortion?” She then proceeded to claim that many women are unable to look after a baby and the member responded that there is always the option of adoption.
The debate ended abruptly when the student, finding herself losing the debate told the TFP member that he was “hilarious” several times and walked away.

Many of the arguments put forward by the pro-abortion side carry no moral weight, while in contrast the principled stand taken by the TFP volunteers usually wins the debate.

We must not stop opposing what Pope John Paul II called “The Culture of Death” and most especially we must continue the struggle to obtain the right to life for the unborn who are being slaughtered in large numbers every day.

Please keep TFP Student Action in your prayers as we fight on the front lines to win the heart and soul of the United States for God and the Blessed Mother.
