Public Blasphemer Invited to Speak at Jesuit Santa Clara University

Santa Clara University, a Jesuit institution in California, has invited Dr. Susannah Cornwall to deliver a lecture on "Gendered Theologies." She has attacked Our Lord in the past and her presentation is part of a pro-homosexual seminar on "Gender Justice" hosted by the “Ignatian Center for Jesuit Education.”

Although the lecture is scheduled to take place on October 12, 2017, faithful Catholic students and parents are calling for its cancelation.

Cornwall describes her field of expertise on the web site of the UK-based University of Exeter, where she teaches theology and religion: “My research focuses on contextual theologies, particularly those relating to sex, gender and sexuality. I also have interests in disability, homelessness, contextual Bible study, postcolonial theologies, queer theologies, and theologies of art.”

Blasphemous Attack on Our Lord

Cornwall's blog features a blasphemous image against Our Lord Jesus Christ. The image depicts the Sacred Heart of Jesus made to resemble the notorious European transvestite and homosexual activist, Conchita Wurst, who Cornwall called a “Jesus-like figure.”

Furthermore, Cornwall attacked the Sacred Person of Our Lord Jesus Christ when she publicly attacked His manhood by suggesting that Christ could have been a hermaphrodite in her essay “Intersex & Ontology, A Response to The Church, Women Bishops and Provision.”

According to The Telegraph, Conwall stated:

“It is not possible to assert with any degree of certainty that Jesus was male as we now define maleness… There is no way of knowing for sure that Jesus did not have one of the intersex conditions which would give him a body which appeared externally to be unremarkably male, but which might nonetheless have had some 'hidden' female physical features.”

Those who love God expect Santa Clara University to uphold its Catholic identity and at the very least disinvite Susannah Cornwall.

"Cornwall is a wolf is wolf's clothing. As a public blasphemer, she should never be granted a platform to speak at a Catholic university," said TFP Student Action director, John Ritchie. "Cornwall's effort to undermine Our Lord's Sacred manhood is nothing more than a radical feminist attempt to twist the truth and normalize transgenderism. Her lecture at Santa Clara University should be canceled immediately, not promoted."

"Young Catholics who love God and respect His holy law don't want unnatural vice to subvert the moral order that allows higher learning to flourish," Ritchie explained. "Sin is not a badge of pride. It never was and never will be. And just as the saints and heroes before us stood in the gap for the Church, now it's our turn to defend Our Lord and oppose those who blaspheme His Holy Name."

Subversion of Catholic Education

The Ignatian Center for Jesuit Education at Santa Clara – which describes its mission as promoting and enhancing a “distinctively Jesuit, Catholic tradition of education” – features lecturers who dissent from authentic Catholic teaching.

Instead of reinforcing moral values, the Santa Clara University School of Law is offering a $5,000.00 grant this summer for students "who plan to work full-time in a position doing legal work for LGBT issues." The Law School also recognizes a pro-homosexual club called "Bisexual, Gay, and Lesbian Advocates" whose stated goals include sponsoring "speakers on LGBT issues."

A Rainbow Resource Center is another university-sponsored initiative that undermines Catholic moral teaching with its pro-homosexual activities. The Center announces events for "LGBTQQIPPA folks," promotes an annual "Queer Film Festival," and will co-sponsor the 2017 national pro-homosexual conference for Jesuit university students titled "IgnatianQ."

Pushing the Transgender Revolt

In 2016, Santa Clara expanded its resource center to include information regarding "Trans* and Gender Nonconforming Students." The information provided clearly subverts basic biological reality, offends reason, and is a sign of revolt against God as the Creator of male and female (Gen. 5:2).

For example, a list of gender-neutral bathrooms is offered.

"To be as inclusive as possible," Santa Clara's web site reads, "We use trans* as an umbrella term to describe those who transgress social gender norms in a variety of ways, including those who experiment with gender; defy rigid, binary gender constructions; and who express or present a breaking and/or blurring of culturally prevalent gender roles."

The odd text continues:

"We use trans* to include but not limit it to: androgynes, bayot, sadhin, transgender, hijra, mahu, gender variant, baki, travesti, trans-masculine, kathoey, bi-genders, two-spirit, genderqueer, stud, trans-feminine, no-genders...those who see gender as having more than two possibilities, and those who live between or beyond existing options."

The departure from Catholic teaching is shocking. Santa Clara University's web site even coaches students how to ask their professors to use pronouns that don't match their biological sex. "How do I go about telling my professors my pronouns and that I’d like to be called by a name that doesn’t match what they have on their class roster?" the page reads. In response to the question, a pre-written template is provided for students to use when contacting their professors, who are expected to keep track of each individual's preferred pronouns and be accommodating to every demand of the new transgender tyranny.

Not to be outdone, the Department of Women's and Gender Studies showcases its own online "LGBTQ Resources," where it features a list of more than fifty organizations that promote the homosexual lifestyle.

Prayer, Peaceful Protest and Reparation

As we have seen, lust and blasphemy are partners in sin. But why is the purported Catholic university of Santa Clara allowing such attacks against moral values? Why is "queer theologian" Susannah Cornwall, who openly attacked the Sacred Person of Our Lord Jesus Christ, invited to lecture on a Catholic campus? Why is the homosexual revolution promoted?

Amid such moral confusion, we must remain steadfast in the truth, pray, engage in peaceful protest and make acts of reparation to God -- especially during this Lenten season.

Our message must be clear: Blasphemers don't belong on any Catholic campus. The anti-family homosexual movement should be opposed by Catholic institutions. So please sign the online petition that calls on Santa Clara University to immediately cancel the lecture of "queer theologian" Susannah Cornwall on campus.
