Urge Villanova University to Cancel the Lewd V-Monologues Play

February 16, 2016: Villanova University -- a Catholic university near Philadelphia -- plans to host the lewd “V-Monologues” play on February 23.
The event is advertised and promoted by the university's Gender and Women's Studies department and will be held in Driscoll Auditorium.
Unfortunately, the "V-Monologues" play has been employed year after year by the pro-abortion movement as a tool to tear down moral boundaries. Its vulgar and immoral content is designed to shock, degrade, and desensitize.
Under the disguise of fighting violence against women, the production fosters the perverse Culture of Death that feeds the fire of disorderly passions responsible for causing so much violence and abuse -- namely, lust, unnatural vice, immodesty and crude vulgarity.
The Most Rev. Earl Boyea, Bishop of Lansing, Michigan, said: "There is nothing redeeming in this 'play' and certainly it contains multiple teachings which are completely contrary to the teachings of the Catholic Church as well as violations of human dignity."
The late Bishop John D'Arcy of the diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, Indiana vigorously condemned the "V-Monologues." In 2008 he stated:
“The performing of this play, even with one or more persons willing to present Catholic teaching, is in direct opposition to both the spirit and letter of Ex Corde Ecclesiae. Also, because it depicts and endorses sinful sexual acts in direct opposition to church teaching, I believe its performance to be pornographic and spiritually harmful...."
Bishop D'Arcy also called for the play's cancellation:
"... keeping in mind primarily the spiritual welfare of our young students.... A decision not to sponsor the play is not only consistent with academic freedom but is a right use of such freedom for it shows respect for the truth..." (emphasis ours)
Your e-protest petition will be delivered to the president of Villanova University, Rev. Peter M. Donohue, O.S.A., Ph.D., calling for the immediate cancelation of this play.
Your protest will also encourage Catholic students who struggle to remain faithful to God and the truth. Your voice can make a difference. And everyone can sign. (You don't need to be a student.)
